Vidro Azul A radio show I’m glad I have time to hear after giving up my own.
All-Music Guide Although it’s not always reliable, this is generally one of the first places I go when I need some biographical information on a band or musician.
Erik Santos The MySpace Music page of one of my best friends. He excels at nearly everything musical: composition, singing, playing piano, playing bass, playing guitar, and improvising. Sometimes he lets me play along, but I’m still not sure why.
Hungry Knitter A blog in which my friend Lauren mostly explores two passions—cooking/eating and knitting—though other topics are just as likely to surface.
15 to 30 Seconds A music-centered blog, conceived and maintained by my friend Peter, that focuses on “emotionally magnificent musical moments” in both classical and pop musics.
Fancy Toast My pal Erielle’s food blog with great recipes and brilliant photography. There are also links to other food blogs, though none of those can quite compare to what E. has on offer.
Robin Guthrie The blog of producer/performer Robin Guthrie.
Samadhi Sound The homepage of David Sylvian’s label.
Effects Explained A Harmony Central page with links to articles that explain how a number of audio effects, such as those frequently mentioned on the Musings page, work (and sound).
The Mixerman Diaries Even though they’re starting to show their age, these fictionalized(?) accounts of a recording session make for some hilarious reading, especially for people who know something about the things that happen in recording studios. Beware, though. You might not be able to stop.
Session Guidelines for Music Production (pdf): A set of guidelines devised by Florida members of NARAS for (home) recording artists who bring their sessions to others to be mixed or mastered. While the article mostly makes reference to Pro Tools, the guidelines it presents are more generally applicable.
